The practice of Kobe that both the sea and dense forests and its mountains are located within walking distance. So an escape from the hustle and bustle of the city is more than just accomplish. Particularly noteworthy during a visit is the forest that you immediately forget that only a few meters behind a large city.
On this day we wanted to take this opportunity once again and make our way to the one that nature, and secondly, the oldest town with hot springs ( onsen ) to visit. This seemed to be a really exciting trip, because it was only by cable car up into the mountains around Mt Rokko go, otherwise a Popular excursions and hiking area with views of the city - and on the "other side" via cable car back down to Arima (English-language link), the onsen .
But before it actually went into the countryside, in our case it was only once and then go train or something to be swaying through the area with a bus. The bus was then once again exciting, because people blow which had been formed before us, was considerable and so the bus filled rapidly, and I wondered a bit as the door was finally still. We had to squeeze us even dispensed into it, because the next bus should arrive 10 minutes later and we have formed the beginning of the next line.
While we were waiting you could see how the new snake grew every minute. This fact was recognized by the bus company and put an extra bus. I thought that was really great because we came on quickly and this example of flexibility was really impressive.
From the station, the bus up the steep mountainside to work through the city up to the cable car stop and I was glad not to have to do to increase this distance. That not all passengers to Mt Rokko want, we realized we were at university. Here there seemed to be an event and then the bus emptied considerably. We were able to breathe for the next bit of freed m.
The cable car ride that followed was really nice, although it was missing something on the way to enjoy the view. The vehicle offered enough window glass in the ceiling and the like, but mostly we drove through the forest, which went up the steep slopes.
At the top I realized that this is not the point of view without today was especially doll and then the lack of view was on the way to cope with really.
So we climbed right into the waiting bus. Although we initially had some space and we were able to get even one seat, decided to enter more and more people and so it was again comfortably tight.
While driving through the mountains, we noticed that the bus driver drove on the track often, because the curve could not be so tight that he can not rally in style and it took the passengers into the corner or pressed against each other.
Although with so many of the bus stop a little drained, so you could be certain that the next time he fills up again, because you looked out the window, so you could see real hosts at super-equipped hikers and casual trippers strolling in front of him.
But when we got the bus to the gondola, take us to Arima should bring (English-language link) stopped, the bus was almost empty. The gondola station was deserted. So I was hoping to spend a quiet ride to the Gundel can.
What can I say, it was nothing out of it. Our car was full and I wont hit back really looked longingly at the gondola from the valley in which there was only a hand full of people.
Due to the high packing density, it was not really possible now to enjoy the view due, which I thought was a real shame, because despite the not very convincing point of view, it was a really exciting ride.
From the gondola we took the tourist bus to enter Arima (English-language link). But what had already guessed from the gondola came true, of course.
Although the site is more than 1000 years known as a bath with hot springs, it has an architectural heritage that is not really saved in the present. What I found really very sad.
Despite this fact, the stay was to describe quite as nice. The crowds were bearable. Particularly pleasing is turned out of the concrete river. Here they had recreated a small creek landscape, where it could be really good stand and get away from the sun.
On further walk we passed a street artist, who offered a show with his monkey. The audience was whether the monkey tricks of the seemingly out of the house and enjoyed the show.
From the screening we turned into the narrow streets of the place where I felt that these were only suitable for pedestrians, because they were really tight. Far from it, even here, cars struggled through the streets. However, very little ![]()
What distinguished the displays in the stores much of me now-famous tourist destinations in Europe was the fact that the usual odds and ends almost in vain sought. Instead, local delicacies offered for sale. This usually only buy things you could in one place. They were not exported to other parts of the country and they have therefore always had a very popular souvenir dar. I was much better than anything else.
After a brief stay in a temple and a nice recovery period, we began our slow way back to Kobe to. Now that we are not the shortcut through the mountains took, but via train through the valley, this trip took a little longer.
