A few km south-west of Hastings is Lune River, a haven for gem
collectors and the site of Australia's most southerly post office
and youth hostel. From here you can also take a scenic 16-km ride
on the Ida Bay Railway to the lovely beach
of Deep Hole Bay. In the surrounding of Lune River visitors find
spectacular mountain peaks, endless beaches and secluded coves
- ideal for camping and bushwalking.
